Tobermory StrEAT Food Festival

On Saturday 23rd June Sally, from Tobermory Fish Co., held their first Tobermory StrEAT Food Festival of the year.  It was up at Baliscate beside their Smokehouse shop.  Well done Sally – you created another wonderful event celebrating local produce and encouraging community.  A happy and friendly event, with holidaymakers and locals all enjoying delicious local street food and music!

The Nelson family were there from Glengorm cooking up wonderful beef burgers.   There is nothing like the smell of a barbecue to get those taste buds going.

Naturally Tobermory Fish Co. were there – and had a comprehensive menu of fantastic fishy food!  It all looked so good, and friends staying with me said they kept going back for more.

Local singer/songwriter band Flora played throughout.

Kyle from Isle of Mull Ice cream was there with her ice bike – and a varied selection of flavours.  She makes her ice cream with milk from Mull’s only dairy at Sgriob-ruadh Farm.

Other stalls included beautiful cakes baked by Sarah from The Little Bespoke Bakery and Mull Tasty Treats did a Hog Roast which smelled amazing.

Moveable Feast dates for the diary

The idea of Moveable Feasts was to encourage producers and suppliers to do something different and special every once in a while.   The Tobermory Fish Co have certainly created something special with the Tobermory StrEAT Food Festival.  Why not come along to the next one on 31st July?!   The final one of the year is 28th August.

Other Moveable Feasts planned for the summer include a Wildflower Walk and Ballygown Picnic on Wednesday 17th July, and a Seafood Fest at Grasspoint at the end of August.
